Great success for the concert of the Italian violinist Uto Ughi, one of the top events of the cultural program of the Italian Pavilion at 2010 Shanghai World Expo. Nearly 1800 people have attended the performance at the Shanghai Oriental Center , in the heart of the modern Pudong district. After almost an hour and a half concert, played along with the piano of the brilliant artist Alessandro Specchi, the Maestro Uto Ughi has rewarded the audience for the unceasing applauses, going back on the stage for three encores.These event witness as the great music (Beethoven and Paganini were part of the performance) is an universal language that goes over different cultures. Most of the audience were Shanghainese citizens, members of the Government and students of the Academy of Music that praised together the outstanding performance. “ There is great space for Italian Classical Music in this country – said the Maestro before starting the concert – because Chinese people are very curious and the crowded music hall today proves that.
