Giorgio Napolitano visits the Italian Pavilion

Yesterday, the Italian Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo received a very distinguished guest: President Giorgio Napolitano of Italy. At the Pavilion, President Napolitano presented a speech to all guests and staff. Following his visit, he praised the Italian Pavilion’s achievements over the past 6 months and expressed his pleasure that the Italian Pavilion has become a favourite among visitors.

Giorgio Napolitano said that he has witnessed a brand new China and Shanghai this trip, much changed since his last visit 26 years ago. He stated that the Italian Pavilion, through its dedication to the Shanghai Expo, has played an important role in promoting the Sino-Italian relationship and feels glad to have been met with such friendship, enthusiasm and recognition from the Chinese people.
