1970 – Osaka, Japan
This was the first modern International Exhibition held in the East. The theme was ‘Progress and Harmony for man’ presented 70 nations and had 110 pavilions to exhibit.
The main attraction for the 64 million visitors was the Japanese Garden, which showed Japanese ancient and modern botanical techniques, and the Festival Plaza, an area designated to artistic exhibitions with computerized equipment.
